For photographers and Peddocks visitors
A friend of mine sent me the link to a photographers exhibition next week in Boston. I don't know the man or his work, but many of us have seen in person some of his subjects. He has some pictures of Peddocks Island and the fort that exists. The first time I was on Peddocks, we couldn't go far, but ...

Norm, I always love your trip reports and pics. You capture everything I want to see and hear when I go on the paddle, flora, fauna, weather, other peeps. I did notice in the first pic, Jack feathers his paddle as much as I do, 90 degrees. But your paddle seems to be feathered less. Did I see that c...

Re: North River---Aug. 3 or 4 (or 6), 2010
Brent and Chris, The North River is a great place to paddle, but be aware of the tides and how high tide/low tide are offset further up a tidal river. Check out the home page on wtpaddlers.org for the tide on the date your interested in. Also, look at the NSRWA.org page for times at specific spots o...

Re: colonial sites along area rivers
The North River has a history of wooden ship building, with a number of identifiable boat yards along the shores. You would have to imagine what the original site would look like, but there are resources found at the library, and most of the sites have signage repainted by a local Eagle scout with i...

As Chip's suggestion from your kayak review thread, I went to paddling.net to look up the Perception Eclipse. This site is great for things like this. The Buckle and Boards Park is still in a planning stage. Marshfield is considering buying this property just east of the Veteran's Park on 139, and putting in a new park with access to the south river. It must pass the town meeting in order for the Conservation group to puchase it. The B&B area ...

Johnney, I up for learning and BBQ/beer. I like the Little Harbor atmosphere, rock gardens, and water with texture. I'd like to practice and learn in those areas, as well as refine my techniques. Thanks John, let me know when you'd like to get together and what I can do to help you.

Where would you launch from? I have been contemplating a Charles River paddle in the Mass Ave and Longfellow Bridge area, but the only place I can think to launch is Soldier's Field Road. I don't think that is far, but I haven't measured that.

Joyce, This is the second time I was able to post this in the past week. It is in regards to the volume of water in the changing tide. It is not linear, or in other words, at different times during the tide cycle you will have different volumes of water flowing. THE RULE OF TWELFTHS "After low ...
