Re: Little Compton Coast - Saturday - 7/13/13 - 8:30am

Parking should be okay. Most of the vehicles there have trailers and use the larger lot on the south side of the road. There are two small lots on the north side that will fit six cars total with overflow along the curb area. It's also possible to use the larger trailer lot and park two or three veh...

Re: Sleeping Bag Liner

Norm, I have a Sea to Summit cotton flannel liner that I use for the same reasons you mentioned. My mummy bag is a high end down bag so I feel like I should try to keep it clean by using a liner. I've done a few multi-day backpacking trips without bathing and it feels wrong to put the bag back in st...

My boat came today and I just finished tinkering with the outfitting. I'll see you guys at Gooseberry a little after 9:00.

Re: Westport, Weds 22nd August

I'm in tentatively...My new Delphin 150 Surf is hitching a ride up from the NC warehouse with the rep and I should be receiving it Tuesday or Wednesday. If I get the boat Tuesday and get the outfitting figured out then I'll probably show up.

Re: Kayak tow lines

Many folks consider the North Water Sea Tec as "the one to get". It's about $125 though. They also offer the Micro Tow which is about half the cost and half the size. I think rope quality, the float and the bungee are the reasons for the price difference. I have the Sea Tec with a second c...

P&H Scorpio LV $1200 =====SOLD=====

From the P&H Website: The Scorpio LV provides a very efficient hull shape that is super stable and very easy to control for lighter paddlers. With a round chined and slightly V'd hull and generous bow rocker the Scorpio LV runs with waves like no other polyethylene kayak out there. The Scorpio L...

Re: kayaking medical kits

I know this is a bit off topic but I just recently learned it and found it pretty informative so I figured it couldn't hurt to share. I'm also currently reading "98.6 Degrees, The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive" by Cody Lundin so I'm getting the safety/rescue thing pounded into my head righ...

Re: Duxbury Bay to Saquish - Saturday May 12

Cool, thanks. Mild to moderate chop and swell shouldn't be a problem for me. Most of my experience is in calm rivers but I've been to Sakonnet Point a few times so I have a tiny bit of experience with rock gardening and surfing some really small waves. Breaking waves still knock me over, though. I c...

Re: Duxbury Bay to Saquish - Saturday May 12

I'd be interested in paddling with you folks if I'm invited. I haven't been to Duxbury yet and I'd like to learn the area. I have a 16 foot boat and all the required accessories. I just started paddling in August so my rough water skills are still undeveloped but it sounds like the waters should be ...
