Re: Washburn Island June 2-4, 2016 [FULL]
Well, the long-range forecast for that weekend looks iffy. I can just feel it.
But I'm going to try making a day of it on Friday. I might even bring out some fresh donuts for breakfast. (Then again, one never knows with my schedule.) Waquoit should be warm as toast by then.

As usual, there is way too much on the plate this weekend for me. Something's got to give...so I'm opting out of the trip tomorrow. I REALLY wanted to experience this one but some looming deadlines...and some ethical commitments... simply argue against it. Have a blast...and watch the weather out th...

And here I thought going commando was only for us bagpipers. Then again, no one says that kilts aren't for paddling. (Let's keep the meaning for that restricted to kayaking please. ) Looks like it's landlocked freshwater for the regulars tonight.

So...I check back in here for the first time in...I dunno...six months. I was hoping to read tales of rough water adventure in the ice flows, or at least Norm's weekly trip report on some stretch of open water somewhere. Nada. Here's another vote for Wompatuck State Park if you want to make the most of the South Shore...and enjoy your stay while not on the water. Accessible to the best put-in points in Hingham, Weymouth, Cohasset, Scituate...and a relatively easy drive further south to the Plymouth area. Great bicyling op...

I hope to be ready to paddle by then. Now in the second cast for my left arm (and I'm a lefty) ...a fine sky blue to go with my Summer wardrobe. I should know where I stand a week before this. We'll see if the arm is up to it after several months of encasement.

This is a good thread. It occurs to me, again, that this forum would be a great venue to publish a section on "Lessons learned from WT trips" or some such thing. I recall a similar good discussion following an adventure several of us had in some big water off of Scituate a few years back. ...
