Wilderness Systems Tempest 165
I am the original owner of this poly tough and durable sea kayak. But now it is time to let it go. It has some typical scratches on the hull but it's in great shape and handles wonderfully on the water. It has always been stored indoors and washed after each use. I am also including a PFD and sprays...

I am selling a Wilderness Systems Piccolo sea kayak. This is a great kayak for kids and young teens. This kayak can progress with your kid's skill level as it handles like a true touring kayak. They'll be able to keep up with you as you kayak together! It's poly tough and durable. I am also includin...

Re: Youngerish kayakers..
Excellent Question! When I first began kayaking in my late 30's, I often wondered why I was always the youngest kayaker in the group & why I hardly saw younger people sea kayaking. I would actually come across some younger paddlers when I was taking different kayaking classes or trips but that w...

Neponset River may one day be kayak-able.
I was catching up on area(local) news today and came across an article in Norwood's Daily Transcript Newspaper. I know there's a trip report that some of you have actually attempted to kayak the Neponset River. I have never tried it (nor wanted to) BUT if they truly plan on cleaning up the toxic PCB...

Do you like to go fishing or camping?
I know several of you enjoy fishing while kayaking. If so, you should take a ride over to the Pro Bass Shop @ Patriot Place in Foxboro. I went there today and was amazed how enormous the place is. They have stuff for camping which I know some of you do while on an extended kayaking trip. The first p...

Chip, you are quite the witty one. Usually Jordan comes up with some pretty funny lines. He must be loosing his touch. I have never witnessed anything "interesting" while paddling, but I have done things in my kayak hoping nobody was looking. It was all very innocent. I often paddle solo and when I ...

Hi Chris, Lake Massapoag is close to me and I've only used it for practicing different re-entries in my kayak. As for a pleasure paddle...it has several drawbacks: 1. the water isn't very clean 2.non-residents are not allowed permits to use the launch ramp. But I've used it after 6pm and no one chec...

I vote for April-ish
Adam, I would really like to attend this, but I was hoping you, Mark and the others would schedule it after the Easter weekend. I know it comes down to what the "majority" vote for, so I am kindly asking if you would all consider this. Heck, I'll even bring a can of tuna to throw on your pizza! Than...

Obviously, I've been out of the loop. I do most of my kayak gear shopping at EMS because of the close proximity. I am closest to the one in Canton, but their selection is very small. The EMS in the Emerald Square Mall (N. Attleboro), is larger and has more of a selection. Is THAT the store that is c...

Pat, Sorry to hear about your Dodge. After reading the posts, it looks as though Monday's trip to Duxbury has changed to Dorchester Bay. And now it looks like it will take place over the weekend. I am already scheduled to paddle down the Cape Saturday. I am unsure if I can get out on the water Sunda...

Been there, did that.
Nelson, I paddled Monomoy last month with the AMC group. Even though I use my charts, the area tends to change each passing year. It's always beneficial to go with a group to this area. July and August present more boat traffic (both recreational and commercial) and morning fog is something to deal ...

Pleasant Bay is worth the drive
I live in Walpole and often paddle Pleasant Bay. It takes about an hour and 45 minutes for me to get there but it's one of my most favorite places to paddle. Tides will indeed play a factor if you are not familiar with the layout of the bay, since it's possible to get caught in the shallower section...

I'm new to the board & agree 100%
Two years ago I passed under the bridge which led to Cohasset's Little Harbor. It was part of CRCK Ocean Skills 1 class. It was the quickest water I've ever experienced. I remember being last in line to go under. The majority of the class participants capsized while going through. Not only did I hav...
