Union street bridge...
Sorry if I bypassed a thread about this issue already....but I heard that the union street bridge (norwell/marshfield) will be closed for about a year for bridge repair and/or replacement. There are already signs up that the road is closed--to be used by local residents only due to bridge being out....

Peddocks from Hingham Harbor...
Has anyone ventured over to Peddocks while leaving from the beach/boat ramp at Hingham Harbor. Looking to go out sunday a couple of hours prior to high tide, paddle over the tip of Worlds end, over to Bumpkin and then maybe to Peddocks. Bumpkin to Peddocks is a pretty open area (meaning boat traffic...

I agree with everything said so far. I have received alot of great info from browsing through the forum topics here. I think you should also keep in mind--where you intend on going in the future with your paddling. What I mean by that is I started out using a used Pungo 10 footer, moved up to a 14 f...

Question for Necky or Wilderness Systems kayak owners...
I have a couple of questions for anyone owning a Necky Chatham 16 or 17, or the Wilderness Systems Tempest 170 or Tsunami 165. With christmas looming around the corner Iam trying to snap a couple of deals with the local retail persons on purchasing a 16 or 17 foot new yak. I have tested the Necky Ch...

Rudder question..
Iam looking to move up to a 16 or 17 footer from my current Tsunami 140. I have a question concerning rudders. I have never owned a yak with a rudder so this concept and tool will be new to me. Hey all, I was reading some kayak product reviews on paddling.net and ran into an interesting comment made by someone. The person who posted a review stated that after they sold their old rec boat which had a wider width (eg 28") bought a new yak that was much thinner (eg.22" or 21"). They made the ...

Hey everyone, Just curious, what does everyone do during the winter months with your kayaks-do you try to store them indoors (garage, ect) or if kept outside do you cover them with a plastic tarp or anything like that? I have a homemade rack that holds my two yak-yaks but I am thinking of adding a p...
