Re: Skills Oct 1st?

I'm not going to make it to Plymouth tonight after all. I had a tree come down in the storm yesterday and I want to spend the evening cleaning up the yard so I can play outside with my grandson while babysitting tomorrow.

Re: Skills Oct 1st?

Do you meet at the boat ramp there? I'm seeing 210 Clark Rd. if I google the address. Yes, that is the correct address. Pull onto the boat ramp area when you arrive to unload your boat and gear and then move your vehicle to the big parking lot. I usually unload my gear onto the sidewalk beside the ...

Joy - next time I see you, remind me to give you the 2 carabiners you want - they are in my orange dry bag that I always have with me for storing my car keys. I still need to take a look at my box of charts to see if I have anything useful for you to use in the Keys. I'm pretty sure I have a couple ...

Make that six and seven for skills. Sharon and I will be there if my car gets fixed ok. I didn't make it home from Plymouth on Saturday - had to be towed from Bridgewater. But, it seemed like it is just the alternator, so hopefully it'll be fixed on Monday.

It's low tide at 5:56pm on Thursday this week and it's a -0.8ft low, so I'd vote for skills in Plymouth this week.

I'll be there this afternoon, but Sharon will not be coming with me - she's not feeling well since Tuesday. Definitely not Covid - tested negative. Symptoms more in line with vertigo and she's going to the doctor today.

I will probably be arriving at around 4:30.

New Skills To Try

For those of us working on skills every other Thusrsday and looking for new things to try and master, here are a couple videos on things that we should try while the water is still warm. Re-enter and roll, Scoop Rescue and Hand of God rescue. I don't think the Hand of God rescue is realistic except ...

Hingham 8/27 4:30pm

The weather forecast is not looking too promising for paddling in Hingham this week, but lets keep an eye on the weather and see if we can squeeze in a nice evening paddle if things improve. Since this is likely to be an open water paddle, please keep the following in mind if you plan to attend: Wet...

Planning to be there and bringing Sharon along. The 2 of us went there last Tuesday and practiced rescues for a few hours. We even did an unintentional "all in" drill where both of us were out of our boats. Lots of fun till you try to roll and forget to use your nose plugs.

Finally had a calm Thursday night in HIngham. At the far end of Mill Pond we spotted a Bald Eagle. Total mile...
