turtle, I am just over 6 weeks out of my surgery. I had a full repair down on my right medial meniscus. Are you having a repair, or removal done? Hope all goes well with the recovery!

Sorry, guys, I would have liked to have gone tonight, but I was taking my mom out for a birthday dinner. As mentioned in another thread, I'd like to do weekend skills sessions or a weekend paddle somewhere. I teach and coach, so my weekday nights are pretty full. Hopefully I'll be able to get the ka...

Hey, thanks for all the help yesterday in Hanson! Had a great time out there, and can't wait to paddle again with you all. Any recommendations on a spray skirt? I looked at the Seals and Snap Dragon sites, but don't know if I should be looking for a recreational or touring skirt. Any further help wo...

I figured there are a lot of experienced paddlers on this site that go on more difficult trips, and we wouldn't want to slow anyone up. However, with the skills sessions and informal paddles, I thought those would cater to paddlers of varying abilities. We are new to kayaking and have only done flat...

We both have Old Town Dirigo boats. She has the 106 and I have the 120.

I know she won't be going out until the water is a little warmer than the 40's! As for me, I would've tried going out this week, but was unable to. We probably won't get out until May or June.

Any recommendations for a splash top? Looking at REI, some of them are really expensive. Also, when it gets warmer, will I need the farmer john anymore or will just a bathing suit be OK. I suppose from your link, I should bring it just in case, but I'm just wondering. Any other recommendations? I ha...

What type of cold weather gear would you need to get out this early? I'm unable to make it tomorrow due to a dinner party and a sore shoulder...that'll teach me to throw a discus at track practice! I have a 3 mm farmer john, would I still need boots? gloves? jacket?

I would've been interested in Duxbury, as it's right down the street, but don't think I'd be able to do it in Randolph. Norm, you said your son runs track...what school does he run for? I coach at Rockland, so I was curious. Can't wait for the kayaking season to start, and hope to see some of you at...

The Ommegang beers are fantastic! My wife and I did the brewery tour in Cooperstown, and it was a blast! These aren't Belgian, but if you've ever tried anything from the Stone Brewery in San Diego (Stone Arrogant Bastard is one of their most popular), they're pretty good, too. I may have to stop by ...

New Paddler(s)

Hello! My wife and I recently bought an Old Town Dirigo 106 and 120. We are looking forward to some paddling on the North River and other locations. We have only kayaked a few times in New Hampshire with friends (and I on the white waters of the Dead River in ME), but are excited about going more fr...
