Re: Provincetown Whale Watch - April 27, 2013

Great report, Norm! I feel like I was there (...oh wait, I kinda was! Not a bad day for a walk at that gorgeous beach, where it was just a perfect day to enjoy the water & birds while waiting for you all to come back All of the seafood/food I had at Seafood Sam's was excellent, but I can't say t...

Re: Tandem Kayak

I looked at this boat (yes, I considered taking the plunge, but it didn't work out for me, though my favorite kayaker looked great when she test-paddled it for me . It's even nicer than the pictures can possibly indicate; reminds us of a human-powered classic Chris-Craft, but practical for contempor...

As one who witnessed the Cohasset Wave action on that day, then read this wonderful report, I can concur that your trip seemed to be more wild that the Wave Turkeys experienced that day  I love your description of all the details of pristine Scituate Harbor!

Wow! Dora the Explorer certainly proved her name to be correct on this trip with you! Astounding that fresh, sealed water just happened to arrive when you needed it. Thank you so much for sharing this beautifully documented trip! ...I do believe that I detected a grin on Dora's bow more than once in...

Thanks to Norm for another beautifully written and illustrated trip report, and to Deb for planning this trip. Other "kayak widows" may enjoy this wonderful location as much as I did if they wish to accompany their paddlers for an adventure on dry land, and here's why: Some locations where...

Norm, you have pre-captured Lora's response very well. Her perma-grin rivals Jordan's typical on-water expression

Anyway long story shorter, Kayak Widow helped bring me to my senses and I didn't buy one - LOL Ahem...Kayak widow, the eternal shopper, has worked out a suitable arrangement while returning a follow-up call from the manager of the Zoar Outdoor store, and Lora's new boat/equipment will be arriving s...

Re: 1st Time on the Deerfield

I had a great time exploring the Deerfield River area, where the world champ Jackson rep's mom joined me on some of my adventures. On Friday we went just a few minutes away to The Farmstead at Mine Brook, where they make outstanding goat cheese under the name of Goat Rising (we met the goats up clos...

In the running for my new favorite picture is baby cormorants in their nest, with watchful parents and community members. Who gets to see that, ever, anywhere?? This was a fun event, despite the wind blowing the lettuce and taco chips around while constructing the chicken taco salad (this is an old ...

The lighthouse-keeper's house reminds me of ours, with all that clothing drying on every wall! Love the little seal face peeking at your lense from behind the other boats - great pictures, as always, but that one's my clear favorite :P

Thanks for the link to the prior post with the quote about the statue and property. Interesting stuff, indeed. I tried to read the bottom of the statue for a lead today, but couldn't get the whole thing.

I saw some wetsuits at the $2 T-shirt place on the cape while I was shopping around the area during your trip to see seals a few weeks ago. This one was on the road not too far from the ice cream/seafood place where we went for PPR that day (I think it was Rte 6 in Wellfleet? - not far from the Well...

I especially love your comments and wildlife pictures, with the turtle group being my favorite this time It's so helpful the way you clearly point out the fine details of the pictures, like the person sitting on the rocky area high above the river, and the person on the walkway below the dam. It's l...

Re: Chatham Inner Harbors with AMC - 4/21/10

Thanks again for some great morning reading material, Norm! Love the videos! The people standing in water with baskets on long poles are harvesting oysters. Clammers need the tide to be out, since they need to dig down in the sand or mud to get clams (and as the tide line fills the holes it's more d...

Thanks for another thoughtful, well-illustrated trip report, Norm!
