Re: Home for 4th of July Weekend - Anybody Want to Paddle?

You are correct that my boat is not equipped for much. Thanks for the tips on everything here. I should get trained on rescues and all that...it's a matter of time for me....as in finding the time. But I know that I ought to.

Thanks again...

Re: Home for 4th of July Weekend - Anybody Want to Paddle?

Hi Norm, I can't make it this weekend, regretfully, but I was looking on a map at the route. Looks pretty nice. Is that the kind of route that a recreational kayak could easily do? If so, I would certainly be interested to give it a shot at another point. Craig Anybody around and want to go out padd...

Hi Louise,

Not very. I'm a first year kayak owner and I seek out flatwater destinations at this point. I'm trying to time it so that the tides will be with us rather than against us, so that should help. You should come along!

Nauset Marsh - Wednesday, August 4 - Recreational

Hi, I'm planning to be on the Cape for a mid-week trip, and I thought it might be nice to get out on the water mid-week. I'm thinking about putting in at the Hemenway between 1:30 and 1:45pm. I'd like to paddle out towards Inlet Marsh and back. It will be a low tide ride out to Inlet Marsh, but by t...

Pamet River in Truro, MA - July 17, 2010

It was a beautiful blue sky - very hot - day on the Pamet River. The only other Turkey out there with me on Saturday was Brent, but it was great nonetheless to meet another paddler and have a perfect day out there. The plan had been to meet at 2:15 or so, but Brent and I both got there around 1:30-1...

I am planning on getting to the parking lot at Pamet Harbor at about 1:45 or 2:00pm. Green kayak on a black jeep. My cell...

Hi Craig, The water in Hingham harbor can be almost anything, but some chop is fairly common. Around the inner harbor, in the areas of Button, Sarah, Ragged and Langlee Islands, it's fairly safe. Boat traffic is slow. But once you go beyond that to Bumpkin, Slate and Grape, it gets a little more wi...
