My wife Sarah who is without question smarter than me, once shamed me into finally buying a computer after bringing home from work yet another e-mail for me using her as a conduit, by handing me this quote by Eric Hoffer: “In a world of change, the learners shall inherit the earth, while the learned...

Hi All, we are looking forward to next Saturday night. We live at 214 Moraine Street (route 3A) in Marshfield, right near the Duxbury town line. Look for the Garretson Cranberry sign out front of the white cape on the hill. There is plenty of parking adjacent to the wooden barn on the right of the h...

Chip, no. You can sign up for them individually. I believe each session will be $8 for members, $10 for non-members. The cooking class I believe is a little more. Audubon will have this up on their website soon.

Pat, I had to look up Blodgett pizza oven, I'm pretty sure we could/should cover how to pack one in a kayak throughout the series. We might need to remove the legs to get it in the back hatch, if it's you making the pizza, we will find a way.

Pablo, wish I was in the market for a boat. The Looksha IV is one of my favorite boats. In my opinion it is one of the most versatile kayaks ever made. I have one from the same period back when Necky's craftsmanship was second to none. Love the tribute to the Mexican flag if that's what the colors a...

Kate, excellent introspection, one of the most valuable skills in kayaking. Not knowing all the details and hesitant to claim there is a simple solution to anything, one (of many) advantages of including a double kayak in a fleet (especially a large one) is the ability it provides to manage an incap...

I love this boat, about the only Brit boat I would say that about. At 6'4" 220 with big feet, it's the only Brit boat I comfortably fit in. Does a lot of things real well. You can order one from Seaward without the silly day hatch and seperate bulkhead. Enabling you to put your heaviest and bul...

Re: Orcas under the boats
It was a thrill but, little did we know what encounter was next. After the orcas, we landed on a beach only to discover we were being stocked by a wild tom turkey ice sculpture. Frozen for at least 10,000 years this saber tooth turkey slowly crept up behind us as we devoured the last of our chocolate.

Orcas under the boats
We encountered this pod of 8 orcas as we rounded Point Doran in Harriman Fjord in Prince William Sound last week. They dove right under the boats as we pulled out cameras and realized that kayaks, even our expedition style kayaks, are kind of small.

Some one recently stole a kayak from the backyard of a long time paddler who lives adjacent to Herring Brook in Pembroke. It is a Dan Sheehan design with a blue deck and white hull with the name SAL painted on both the bow and stern. Please be on the look out for this boat.

Lance, I think your on to something. Of course your experiment could take on more integrity by modeling a semi diurnal tide over a diurnal tide.
