Re: Thursday's

Between work and vacation, Thursdays have been impossible for me lately also, but I'm still interested if the the weather stays nice. I'm hoping this Thursday is the last one I need to miss due to work, but there's no guarantees.

I doubt I can get there in time with a boat, but I might want to join you for PPR. I have a feeling my Thursday afternoon meeting at work will be running pretty late tomorrow. I might take a bike ride around Hingham while you guys are out paddling and meet you when you're done.

Thanks for posting that you would not be coming Abby and Steve. It allowed us to take off early knowing that it was just going to be the 3 of us, Jordan, Bea and I. We ended up just paddling around Worlds End and into the Weir River. Turned around at the first bridge and came back. It was an early n...

I had hoped to pull it together today and leave work early enough to make it, but the boss is in for the first time in a while and we're planning to have a long group meeting this afternoon so I can't bail out early. Have a good time out there tonight.

There's the NFCT Paddling Film Fest at REI in Framingham this week if anyone is interested.

It's harder to "defrost" when you've just spent and few days further south (Washington DC) where the weather was in the 70's and 80's.

NFCT Paddling Film Festival

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) hosts a Paddling Film Festival each year. Usually they have an appearance at the CRCK warehouse but I don't see that scheduled anywhere this year. I did get an email about a showing at the Kayak Centre in Rhode Island for tomorrow night. I don't think I can mak...

Hingham Tonight? 9/6/18

Is anyone thinking about paddling in Hingham tonight? Possible thunderstorms, but possibly nice? Are you an optimist or pessimist? High tide at about 7:00pm. Diminishing winds from the WSW from 10mph, lessening (unless thunderstorms hit...). Days are getting shorter, so there may not be many evening...

Welcome keeponswimming! We have become mostly an open-water sea kayaking group where most of the trips that are posted require a longer sit-inside boat with bulkheads front and rear for flotation. (The longer boat is needed to be able to keep up with the group.) Most trips require a good level of pr...

My guess is that all the showers are going to miss the Hanson area, the way the doppler looks right now. Lots of nastiness to the west, but I think Hanson is going to have a clear swath of sky at 5:00pm. I'm planning to head over there, leaving here at 4:00pm, so I should be there at about 4:45. Norm

At 9:00am, the forecast is still possible scattered thunderstorms. Too early to tell from the doppler radar whether the current showers will have passed Hanson by 4:00pm. Why don't we plan to make the call about cancelling at about 2:00pm.

It seems there has been confusion a few times already this year about where the Thursday evening paddle would be, Hingham or Hanson.
