pool sessions

I know that Archee sent something out recently for weekend pool sessions in Randolph - maybe someone with his contact info can add it? Jim Hurley also runs a weeknight(thursday night) in Brookline - but access is easy for short boats. I forget what the season costs, but it is inexpensive compared to...

Very nice photos. I hope to join you some nice WARM day. NK The upper section of the winnipesaukee river in Tilton NH is fairly reliable and warms quickly in the spring. It's a good learning and practice river and there is also a more advance section a couple of miles downstream with a rail trail a...

There is almost always parking along the road between the lobster pound & the restaurant. Drop your gear off at the boat ramp parking area, and then park. It's about a 5 min walk max if you take the path along the water.

I know that people put in in Holyoke at Waveosaurus(google dinosaur footprints in holyoke), it's about 2 miles upriver from holyoke dam. There is a surf feature there at high levels(~40,000 cfs), I don't know what the current is like for upriver travel at lower flow. I also have seen a umass boathou...

Chili Head bbq is on rt 106 in w bridgewater, about a mile east of rt 24. It's probably 20+ minutes from Hanson - and the wrong direction for anyone from Marshfield area. If anyone ever gets out to Sturbridge, check out BT's Smokehouse on rt 20. Best bbq I've had Tennessee's is the place in Braintree.

Also check out the luxurylite cots. Expensive, but lifetime warranty. A friend of mine has one and loves it; it packs down small.

Keeps you about 4" off the ground, so your tent site doesn't have to be perfectly flat.

It looks like thermarest owns them now

I think cgr needs a refresher course on sea kayaking. He needs to watch "Is this the sea?" again. johnnysmoke - do you have that one still? A sea kayak makes a great rack for drying whitewater gear. (I had my sea kayak out 3 times last year. Including an overnight expedition to Grape!)

When I put foam in my boat I put several thin applications of contact cement on before attaching them. This was when gluing foam to foam, so I figured that the foam would absorb some of the glue.
