Re: The Monomoy chow-down is on

Well, in the same newspaper, about 5 pages on from that front page story was another story about a guy who was fishing from his kayak in California, when a Great White nudged his boat, then took a chunk out of the front of it and knocked the guy into the water. Luckily there was a powerboater nearby...

OK, no-one answered so I worked it out and now find you put the answers up !!
Anyhow I worked it out with the vector drawing thing and found the 90 deg current thing after, while looking up some easy way to tell distance off shore.

Re: Paddling Brewster area

You can also park and launch here but it is VERY limited parking and you must park away from the ramp as local oyster boats use this ramp. This will avoid the big open area of Pleasant Bay.
Go on the satellite image to see ramp. Easy to go round into Little Pleasant Bay.

Tides and currents lined up pretty good for a stab at the Monomoy cicumnavigation, the 4th time this Spring but so far the weather had not co-operated. A week before the trip the forecast was lousy but as the days wore on it got better and better. Finally, a few days before, Norm and Kate said they ...

Re: Kayak escort for a swim from Menauhant to Oak Bluffs ?

Laura, The big problem with that area is not only ferries coming from 4 directions (Nantucket,Hyannis, Woods Hole and Falmouth) but the huge amount of private boats buzzing around out there especially July. And they don't always care too much about kayaks !!! Although I haven't kayaked across to the...
