The Charles River was a good choice for taking advantage of another warm, but breezy, Fall weekend. I'm always glad to get out there and paddle with you all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for more mild weekend weather as long as we can get it.

It was a great opportunity to test out the drysuit, and feel what a 48 degree swim would be like. I'm glad we were able to get in the boats for a little practice, too.

Norm, that would be an excellent option, but for a longer paddle I would have to find a babysitter. Possible, but not guaranteed.

It definitely looks like it would be worth getting the free sample to see if it works as advertised. If so, it would be something I would be willing to try over the winter. I was thinking about getting a keel strip anyway. Thanks for the post.

Thanks Norm, for the lift and another good paddle regardless of the less-than-brilliant foliage. It still looked pretty from our vantage point on the river. Thanks also to Skip for ferrying us all to the put-in.

Hi all,
I just got in from a trip to the Cape and on the way home the serpentine belt broke in my car. I made it home, but won't be taking it anywhere tomorrow. My husband and I are going to try and load my kayak on his truck to see if I can take that.
Update in a few minutes, wish me luck.
