Greetings all, I have a friend who organizes pool time for predominantly WW Paddlers but it is open to anyone in our paddling network. Details Hey Everyone - The Wareham Recreation Department will be having their pool sessions for kayaking beginning January 9, 2007. Our "Official" time is 8:30 to 10...

Best thing for rolls

Hi Pat et al, The best accessory to my usual self abuse regimen was the recent addition of a Fitness Ball. A 40 cm inflatable ball used ususally for ab work outs. I have found that was the single most helpful core strengthening tool and it definitely helped the core get in shape for rolling. The oth...

As we say in the Engineering business, one test is worth a thousand expert opinions...... That being said, you know I love my Tempest as my FAV all around boat. Storage for the off season

Hi Lance, I've got both of my boats, one plastic the other composite under the deck, out of the sunlight. Both boats are slung with their orientation at about 60 degrees so the hulls strongest orientation is taking the bending load created. The supports are about 7 feet apart so its pretty uniformly...

Tempest Seat

Hi Gang, The touring phase 3 has a whitewater back band rather than the "seat back" that you have in the Tsunamis. It makes doing laybacks a breeze. It also makes getting back into the boat easier without a cumbersome seat back folding down when you're trying to get in and down while your doing a se...

Hi Gang, My Tempest seems to do most things very well. I have no complaints in wind. All boats weather cock somewhat but adjusting the skeg seems to nearly nullify any issues. I've paddled in 25-30 mpg winds and have had no issues. As far as the 170 versus 165, I actually wanted the smaller boat. Ho...

Hi Lance, Welcome to you both. I have a WS TEmpest 170 Poly as well. So far I have been extremely lucky with my 2003 Boat, and my hatches have performed superbly. One more skills session for Thursday 9/21?

Is anyone up for one last night of skills before the water temps get too cold to play in?

I think we should try for either 5 or 5:30 if we wish to go for it.

Open to other suggestions if folks wish.
