Joyce,

This is your kind of day. With low tide at 6:30 pm you can ride the tide BOTH ways. Just put on a Walkman, listen to the Red Sox game , pour yourself a Marguerita.......and let the river take you where you want to go!

Thank you for the offer, Kate! That is nice of you.

I am doing a final attempt tomorrow at Hanson...........and then wait until spring to try it again. I am not too optimistic about tomorrow, but Linda says she has some magic tricks for me..........Hmm.....

Mark.

Do you know anything about the water quality? Linda and I were thinking of working on our rolls, which for me would involve consuming quite a bit of water.

I know the pond was closed for swimming last year due to high something-something.

Thanks.

The Glades are salt water marshes that you can paddle through at high tide. It is very pretty and very relaxing. But after all the white water stuff you did this weekend, this might be a la-la land kayaking for you???

Thanks, Mark. Now I know what to take into consideration. On Friday the winds were off shore (South East I think ?), and it wasn't bad, but I could still see a lot of wave action off shore by Egypt beach. So yes, I was a sissy and suggested to turn around!

Hi paddlers.

A big Thank You to Jordan for organizing another great Wild Turkey trip. Loved everything about it, even though some of the big waves were a little scary. I wonder how big some of them were?

Also A+ to Ron for assisting a resque under extremely difficult conditions!

Mark.

I just checked the tide chart. High tide for Duxbury Thursday Aug 2 is 2:38 pm. Low tide is 9:12 pm, if I have read the tide chart correctly.

Does this give us enough water? Parts of the bay is pretty shallow at low tide.

Hi guys.

Duxbury Bay with BIB (butts in boats) at 6:00 pm and PPR at the Boat House in Green Harbor sounds like a good plan.

So I guess that is what we are doing?

If so, can someone post a map/link to the put-in for those that are not familiar with Duxbury Bay/Powder Point area.

I agree with Mike and Helen.

Maybe we should break it down and do Duxbury Bay this Thursday as an intro to salt and "cold" water rescues. And maybe later in the season (August?) we can pick a day to practice in Little Harbor?

It seems like a big jump in skills from the calm bath tub water at Hanson to the rapids of Little Harbor into the Atlantic as daylight fades fast. How about breaking us in (at least me) at a slightly slower pace?

Just a thought.
