Well, Nelson.

Yesterday, all I wanted to do was to drop off some WORK for Pat.

But he said PADDLE, PADDLE.........so that was the end of the workday for me!

Thanks for the info, Craig.

I swim in my cockpit, so I have a feeling a roll would be tricky/impossible. However, I don't really know what I am talking about since I have never made an attempt. I will though this summer.

And Todd, you are asking me what I am looking at. I hope to improve my skills this year, and I really would love to learn...

Dear Craig. I fully agree with you. You have to take the plunge! I do it all the time. That's how I live my life. And that is why it is helpful to have a sensible person put things in perspective sometimes. This would be my third kayak, and I am looking for a perfect fit. A kayak I can "wear". So I ...

And thank you to Chip for guiding me in the right direction. I almost bought a kayak without even trying it. And how to you sneak a 16 foot kayak into the house without having the husband discovering it? It would not fit under the bed like shopping bags, and it is too big to leave in the trunk! Bea

Hi guys.

There was a really nice article in the Mariner Newspapers this week about the Expo.

In the Marshfield Mariner it was on page 10. In the Norwell version I have been told that there was a beautiful kayaking picture on the front page.

Check it out!

Hi Sue. I am impressed how well you handled the situation. Mud baths are supposed to be good for the skin. Have you noticed a difference? Would you recommend this paddle to anyone? Should we bring a pruing tool if we go? I guess one thing we can learn from this is that it is always good to kayaking ...

There is always water from the Driftway to the Spit. Isn't it?

The Spit is beautiful at night, and you have a few paddle choice depending on the tide.....Up the North River...the South River......around the Island...

The parking is good and the launch is easy.

Hi Graig. Yes, Ned and Doug are well aware of the damage to the misc. state parks, camp sites you name it. That's why this trip has been slow "getting off the ground". They had to find out which places were "back in business" after the hurricanes. We need one more warm body to make this a go! Bea

Kayaking the Everglades with Marshfield Rec

Hi guys. Ned and Doug are putting on a one week kayaking trip in the Everglades ( Florida) from Jan 23-29, 2006. They have done these trips for 15 years, so these guys really know what they are doing. So far 5 of us have signed up, and they need 6 people (max. 8). Are any of you wild Turkeys interes...

Sunset paddle Thursday Oct 6

Hi guys.

It is supposed to be a beautiful day tomorrow (Thursday Oct 6). Anyone up for a sunset paddle? We could meet at the Driftway around 5:15 pm or so and go out to the Spit.

Duxbury Bay is also an easy launch, but I don't think there will be enough water there.

Any takers?

Is the parking lot for Sandy beach a privat parking lot? Is that why we have to do it off season? I am dying to kayak there some time. Glad you volunteered to be the guinea pig over the rapids. The water runs pretty fast there at times! I'll take pictures.
