Re: Windblown in the Florida Keys 7th Jan to 15th Jan 2017

Excellent trip report Dave. You did an incredible job improvising a fantastic trip, keeping us all safe, out of the ridiculously windy conditions. I think it worked out well that this trip was done in the 3rd year, not the 1st or 2nd. Your local knowledge that you've gained about the keys was obviou...

Hey Bea, you want to paddle with the boy and I, you can have the front seat of the double? All you would need is your paddle, life jacket and skirt. Or if not Bea, anyone else interested in riding in front seat of the double, with a toddler and myself riding behind? That sounds like fun to paddle w...

Hull Illumination - Saturday, July 30, 2016

Interesting night-time event tomorrow night. I've been to it a couple times by kayak. Last year we launched out near Hull Gut and made our way to the inside of Spinnaker Island and I think that worked out pretty well with a minimum of boat traffic cruising around from that direction. If you go, be p...

Yes, that's why I didn't really offer it. I know how annoying it gets when you get a ton of low-ball offers for an item that has good value and is worth what you're asking for it.

Only if he's willing to accept what I got for the Millenium - only got $750. I would like to get something though, because a Cetus is not comfortable for my paddling partner and maybe a Delphin could be adjusted better to fit her needs.

Hey Kate, What time were you coming back through the gut? I was there, on the way out, at about 1:30 and it was wild getting across! We made it ok but then had a little trouble in the swirly water near Peddocks. I was wishing it was more than two of us and I can't imagine crossing that stuff alone. ...

I've done it a few times for camp-outs on the harbor islands, but not in the last couple of years. I don't park near the windmill though, I park at the far end of the municipal parking lot, as far from the windmill as you can get. At that end of the lot, there is(was) a sign that says something abou...
