Yep, I just checked 4 different weather sites, all had wildly different forecasts for Weds, from 20% to 80% chance of rain !!! Thursdays was all consistent, so lets aim to launch by 9am on Thursday. Ice cream is open every day !!

Mayo beach which is just past the sharp right turn at the marina/town pier is first come first serve parking, also go a mile or two further and there is another parking spot. Gif, Prince Cove Marina is just off Rt28. there are now traffic lights at the intersection of Rt28 and Rt149, you go south at these lights on Prince Ave and follow for +/- 0.5 mile and the marina is on the left. Its run by Barnstable town. Cost $8 to park for the day

The plan is to paddle from Whites Landing (Washburn Island area) to the north end of Osterville Grand Island area. Time permitting we can duck into Popponesset Bay and circle the island and/or loop round Dead Neck (weather permitting) I'm aiming for a 9am launch but we will need to shuttle vehicles....

I plan to meet at Quisset Harbor about 8.30am and launch at 9am. There will some current in our favor through Woods Hole and a short window where there should be no ferries moving around. Once through Woods Hole we will follow the coast towards Washburn Island, ending at Whites Landing on the Childs...

Looking at the tide charts, low tide is 4.50pm so I am looking to launch around 4-4.15pm from the Driftway and paddle out to the New Inlet for a couple of hours. No, I'm up for it, haven't decided on the place yet....even if the sea is flat it'll be different than the pond.

Sounds like the New Inlet or Scituate Harbor maybe the best of the bunch. Only problem is I don't know where New Inlet is !!!! Is it the general consensus that while the session is a good idea, maybe a different day with more favorable tides would be better ??? And if so, what period of the tide cyc...

It isn't. Pt 3 is Quisset to Washburn through Woods Hole. My excuse is the area is known as the Cape and Islands !!!! Have to save something for next year!!

why would anyone want to try boating skills in a pond filled with large bounders? I don't know what a bounder is, but if you meant "boulder" there aren't any in the pond at Camp Kiwanee, so I suspect you may be going to the wrong pond. If you're from England, like me, a "bounder"...
