How long of a trip are you thinking Norm? I'd have to be back in N. Weymouth by 1:30 and as you may recall, I like early morning paddles I'd want to be back by noon at the latest but probably earlier depending on how early we start. I'm not looking for a 15 mile trip with "texture". I'd like a 5-9 ...

Duxbury Powder Point Bridge - Sat. 6/20/09 - Morning

It looks like there will be a break in the bad weather Saturday morning and the tide is high at 9:30am in Duxbury Harbor. I'm thinking of putting in at Powder Point Bridge and then depending on the conditions, paddling out towards Clark's Island if it's calm or into the Duxbury Back River if it's a ...

It's too bad "professional" news reporters can't take the time to gather all the facts and present them clearly and accurately as Adam has done here.

Thanks Adam.

Wednesday 6/17/09 After Work

Anybody want to get out on the water on Wednesday after work when the weather is forecast to be good? I'm game for anywhere from South Boston as early as 4:00pm to Duxbury as early as 5:00pm. (I work in Southie and get out at about 3:00)

Weymouth Back River - June 6th

I know there has already been a trip report about this spot this year but I thought I'd add another one to mention how many large birds you can view if you head as far inland as possible. I checked the bird book this morning to confirm the different types I came across. The list includes: Osprey, Sn...

Short paddle - Sat. - June 6th, 10am - Weymouth Back River

I'm thinking of taking a local, short paddle on Saturday due to afternoon commitments. Would anyone like to join me for a trip up the Weymouth Back River at 10:00am? High tide is at about 11:00am so there should be no problem fighting the current. I plan to launch from Abigail Adams, paddle all the ...

Paddling out to Boston Light sounds interesting to me for this Thursday if it turns out to be calm. I pulled a Kate last night - broke the safety rules and went out paddling alone in Hingham Harbor - last minute decision - so I've had my Hingham "fix" for this week anyway.

Chip - still looking to visit Hangman's Island to cross it off your list? I don't think there are any restrictions to launching kayaks since the beach is so long and spread out. Ockway Bay to Osterville Grand Island - 5/22/09

The weather gods were a little perplexing for this trip this year. Looking back on last year's trip report, there was a threat of rain but it turned out nice. This year, the weather was just about perfect...except for that darned wind. But at least it was a warm wind. As we prepared for the put-in, ...
