Re: Monomoy An Island Again

Actually, I'm looking for a place to stage an AMC trip to Monomoy. Hardings would be ideal as long as they don't hassle us with respect to launching, landing etc. and assuming there is actually a place to park at say ~0830 on a weekend morning.

Is Hardings beach a reasonable place to launch from for Monomoy? How difficult is parking on peak summer weekends?

It is SUCH a long drive without the ferry. Is there any chance the Portland ferry will start running again before the symposium?

AMC advanced paddling clinic May 25/26

I set up a two day paddling clinic in Woods Hole. There are still 4 slots (as of 2/17), and we'd love to open it to this group as well. Please contact me for additional details

Re: Gluing in foam

Jordan, I'm using the 'regular' grey 1/2" foam sheets I got at CRCK. Would they also stock a higher density foam that you mention? If not, where is a good place to get some? In both my cases, the glue joint let go. I think my legs are shearing/peeling the foam off as I reenter while upside-down.

Gluing in foam

All my reentry and roll practice is hard on foam pads (in the cockpit), and I've got foam coming loose in both my boats. It's been glued in with 'regular' contact cement, and I'm wondering if there's a better adhesive, or maybe just a better way of gluing in the foam. I generally try to spread conta...

Beal has a great and large campsite. It's a ~1/2 mile paddle from Knubble Bay AMC property, which allows launching and parking for Beal campers. Camping at Knubble bay is allowed for 'weatherbound' Beal campers waiting for weather to clear to paddle over to Beal. Going around Georgetown is a long wa...

Middle Ground (Martha's Vineyard) Oct. 6 Level 3/4

Several of us are paddling over from Woods Hole to West Chop to play the Middle Ground tide race on 10/6. If you haven't been there, it's one of the nicer tide races in south New England, accessible by a ~3.5 mile paddle from Woods Hole. Flood starts at 10:51 and (the show)ends by 16:50. Ideally, th...

Parking should not be an issue for 3-4 cars on Spring Bars rd. (next to the WH yacht club) by 0830 or so in the morning.
