The NRS ones are the best, in my experience... http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=1442&deptid=1188 Eliminate the scrapes, scratches and gouges. Use NRS 1" Padded Straps to protect the finish of your car, boat, refrigerator or whatever you need to lash securely. Right.... 'cuz I wouldn'...

Steve, I was able to use 4 inch u-bolts from home depot to attach my Land Sharks. I bought thhully roller and mako saddles and the holes don't line up. I bought long bolts and a plate from the u-bolts to secure the bottom. Give it a try. Thanks Chip. However, if I go with a more stable and secure s...

Rack System

I bought these thinking I could attach them to my home made truck rack (a bunch of 2x4's screwed together). Unfortunately, it isn't going to work without a lot of retrofitting. Essentially, these have a clamping system that will clamp on to most square or rounded rack crossbars (just not a 2x4). I p...

I am most likely not going to be able to make this one. We are doing a major upgrade at work this weekend. Originally, we were only working fri into sat. Now, it is likely to carry over into sunday. At a minimum, I'll be going about 36 hours without sleep. If things change, I'll be there.

Thanks for coming, guys. It was great to have you all along and poke around a while out there in the Breakers. And thanks for the, ahem, rescue practice Bob and I got back to the put-in around 4:30. I actually don't have a report. But, I figured I'd start the thread with the few pics I took. A great paddle (my first of the season). As Nelson said, a fun place to go back to. MacFarlane Homestead Purchase

I don't know the particulars, but it appears that there is a vote on the table in Kingston to purchase the MacFarlane Homestead for a preservation project. This land is along the Jones River and there is mention of providing a kayak launch.

Adam,

I have a firm time constraint in that I need to be back in Marshfield by 5:00pm. Don't tailor the trip around me, but if it is reasonable to assume that I would be home on-time, then I can make it.
