If the Plymouth location doesn't work out, an other possibility is Powder Point. Depending on wind direction, you can usually find calmer water on one side of the Point or the other.

What time are we thinking about starting?

Nelson, The paddle was very nice. We crossed over to Saquish and back. The wind was out of the SW and there were some 1 - 2 waves, once beyond the point, due to the significant fetch. I'll write up a report this week (it'll be small), but here are my pics http://community.webshots.com/album/37909544...

Scott, Do you know what brand/model kayak you want? No two models feel the same and you will want to try before you buy to be sure you get what is going to work for you. If you're not yet sure, I would strongly recommend going to see Doug at Billington Sea Kayak ( http://www.billingtonseakayak.com/ ...

Todd,

All total, there were 9 of us. Yes, I practiced my roll. Also, played around with some of the Greenland-Style paddles that were there. I need to make me one of those (actually, I tried once... it belonged in a frat house).

Hey Bea, No... I didn't know that. Funny though, Roger drove by me this morning towing one of his mellonseeds. He was heading in that direction. Sunrise Paddle 6/26

Since the tides are not cooperating with my schedule this weekend, I have come up with a solution. I am planning to paddle (if I can convince some poor fool that getting up at 4:30 in the morning would be a good thing) or sail (if I'm the only fool) at 5:00am on Duxbury Bay. Sunrise is just after 5:...

Just a heads up for anyone going to the Hanson paddling clinic... don't make the same mistake I did last week. Coming from the north, there is another camp about 100yds before Camp Kiwanee. Obviously, this isn't the one you want.

Thanks Steve,
But I will pass on sharing the wetsuit

Even I get the whilly's thinking about putting on my wetsuit. There aren't a whole lot of options when your out in the middle of the swim leg of a triathlon and Mother Nature comes a callin'.

The items that are recommended for this session are:

kayak (who woulda' thought?)
paddle
PFD
paddle float
hand pump or bailing bucket
sponge
wetsuit (nice to have, but not necessary)

If you don't have something, I'm sure we'll have at least a few of everything, so we can share.
