Bev - I forgot to mention our weekly Thursday night paddle. Maybe Bea already told you about it. Every Thursday evening, we paddle in Hingham Harbor if the tide is in, or gather at a Pond in Braintree or Hanson to work on "skills" like self-rescues, assisted rescues, rolling, how to turn your long b...

Well, at least 3 of us are going rain or shine. The plan has evolved to be that Bea and I will meet at a shopping mall at 8:00am on Rte. 3 in Braintree and carpool together in my truck from there. We'll go to the take-out at South Natick dam where we will meet Barb at 9:00am. We'll get Barb's boat o...

Anyone else a concerned about the weather forecast for Saturday's trip? Honestly, I'm just getting over a cold am not interested in a rainy day paddle with the temps only in the 50's. I spoke with Barbara B. this morn and she feels the same. I don't know if a later start time would make a differenc...

Hingham Thursday 4/30/09

What time are we planning to shove off this week in Hingham, 5:00, 5:30, 6:00?

High tide is at 4:37. Sunset is at 7:42. Air Temp Forecast is low 60s. Might be a little breezy. Water temp is probably still in the 40s.

Would anyone be interested in a trip on the Charles River this weekend? I'm thinking of Sunday since a few people are tied up helping at the REI Demo Day in Braintree on Saturday. Charles River 4/18/09 Short Trip

I guess I've been a little remiss in not reporting on a small trip that a few of us took on the Charles River last Saturday. (Not all WTP trips need to be out on the salt water in sea kayaks with full length dry suits.) The river water temp is about 10 degrees warmer than the sea water and the shore...

Not sure if last night really qualifies as an official WTP Thursday night at Hingham...we did not observe the standard traditions of circling Bumkin or going to Stars for PPR!

Five of us did get out and paddled to the other side of World's End to make sure it's still there. :D

I bought the Cayuga 146 as my first long boat and traded it in immediately after using it for just one weekend.
