Neat new "discovery" (actually a suggestion from Norm C.) just beyond SS Plaza in Braintree...swell little pond, only 4 miles from Quincy Center. Size wise, maybe 10-15% larger than Hanson Pond. Warm water, sandy bottom in the "swimming area." Loads of parking So...here we go rol...

Dear KK, We have been going to Hanson Pond fairly regularly lately...but in the daytime (usually morning/mid day)....even on the weekends there may be swimmers, but only in the restricted area. I would guess the mosquito "risk" is greatly reduced in the day and I'm sure we will continue. S...

A follow-up: Abby called the "health services" in the Hanson area, They said that "evening outdoor events" at schools, etc have been cancelled because of this... The pond was sprayed earlier this year, but not recently. The "bug spray" is fine, but if you are in and out...

Folks, please check news regarding Hanson Pond area. Mosquitos, apparently caused a death in the South Shore/Hanson area and we are unsure if the pond has been "sprayed." For sure, if we go, there will be frequent applications of spray, especially closer to dusk. If anyone has any details ...

The Charles is a fun and easy paddle, much to see! As it leaves the Cambridge area, loads of fauna..count the turtles, sunning on the fallen branches on waters edge. Enjoy! Steve
