Signs of spring:

1) Black cap chickadees outside my window today

2) Ken posts not once, but twice in a day!

I am planning on going

Naahhh, that's not it...it's Valentine's Day and Ken is thinking of the people he loves!

I'm planning to attend the party also. Looks like I can make it on time this year and I'm hoping to drag the better half with me too.

I will be there. Not sure what I'm bringing yet, though.

Chip,

You should bring the meatballs. I'm pretty sure you are the one who brought them last
year. They were really awesome.

I will have to miss the meatballs...and everything. Then again, what else is new! We'll be up in NH and Maine to get in some skiing before this non-winter just gives up altogether. Have fun. Should be an early start to the paddling season this year.

"Early paddling season start"??? When did it end??? How about going out tomorrow afternoon? Supposed to hit 50 degrees. Check the "Upcoming Trips" forum this evening if you have the right cold water gear and would like to do 7 - 10 miles in Weymouth tomorrow, Wednesday, 2/22/12. So far, it is Sue and I.

When and where are you, Finn? I'll be skiing in Maine as of Sunday. If I can't see you on the water, maybe I'll see you on the slopes???? Miss you. Don't think I have seen you since before your son's wedding?

In New Hampshire at Attitash on Saturday if the plans hold. Not really sure about Sunday as we are planning to meet our son Geoff in Biddeford late in the day to celebrate his birthday. He'll be coming down from Saddleback in Rangeley ... but we're not sure if we'll be going all the way up there to ski with him during the day.

Speaking of my other son...we're thinking of heading to Bogota, Colombia in a few weeks to spend a week with him and his wife...and meet our new grandson, Mateo. All depends if my wife can travel after some eye surgery a few weeks ago. That probably means I might not even get down to the Kayak Expo this year either. But, then...when is that happening?

Busy spring coming up. The crabgrass even looks ready to sprout.

Russ and I skied Attitash last Wednesday (2/15). Best conditions we have seen all year. Totally awesome. Get there early, as the primary surface will probably be skied off by early afternoon.

Bogota. Wow. Way cool. Hope you can pull it off!

No NSRWA Kayak Expo this year. A few of us will be driving up to the Kittery Trading Post Expo at UNH next month, but that's more of a shopping trip, not a social gathering. KTP Expo is March 30 to April 1.

They still have not posted any details on this year's visiting speakers or workshops, so I don't know what they will have this year.

My better half (Helen) won't be attending because I failed to put the party date on the fridge calendar and she made another commitment. But, we did figure out what I should bring and looking back on what others are planning, I think it will fit well. I'll bring a garden salad, croutons and 3 dressings: Ranch, Italian and Sesame Ginger.

Looking forward to seeing everyone,

Hi Ron, this gathering sounds like so much fun! Alas, I must cancel my appearance. For as much as I would like to see you all dry (not necessarily sober), and Bob (MildMan) would really like to meet you ("Who are these people?"), and I make a mean jambalaya, I am wretched with stomach flu and prefer we all live to paddle another day! Next time!

Sorry you can't make it to the party Barb. I hope the stomach flu passes without too much retching.

Get well soon!

sorry to have missed it after all. My daughter's birthday was the same day, and the only time we could get together was just before your party. But I'll be seeing you all soon anyway, those I didn't already see at the pool sessions!
