Wild Turkey Paddlers

I'm hoping to buff out as many of last year's hull scuffs and scrapes as I can . Before I just put the buffer and some buffing compound to the hull, does anyone have any advice on the best way (and the best tool) to do this?

I've had good luck with the magic sponge. Works great. No buffing required.

Dragging the boat down the beach works well, too.

No need to buff plastic...

Now that the trolls have spoken, back to our regularly scheduled program...

Are you talking about the Magic Eraser? If so, I tried one of those and it started to turn orange like the finish of my boat. There's some potent stuff in those things.

Some buffing compound works well if the scuffing is deeper than a magic eraser will take out.

Ken Hartl aka Kayak Ken is our resident expert on boat building and repair. He's a true craftsman and would likely have several recommendations.

I'll ping him off line and try get you some suggestions.

Yes, that's what I mean. I have not had that problem with my boat. Quality stuff those P&H Boats

I think we might use the generic ones, maybe they are less potent.

Did you ever get the answer you were looking for?
I have been cleaning, buffing and waxing boats since lead paint was legal.
I have all the equipment and supplies to make anything fiberglass sparkle and shine.
I can even reduce the drag on those plastic boats making them require 9 less strokes per mile
I am thinking about having a rainy Saturday or Sunday BYOB boat cleaning/cook out soon as soon as I put my skis away and dust off the kayak.
Anyone interested please let me know.

I would definitely be interested in having you buff out all the scratches in my gel coat....

I won't be able to make it Thursday.

Looks like rain, but I'll be around all afternoon. If anyone want to clean the boat and I'll compound it,, you apply the wax and I'll make it sparkle. PM me for directions.
