Duxbury at low tide

Post by pat »

Someone asked if there are any problems getting kayaks into the water at low tide in Duxbury, near the PP bridge. I don't know of any, but I'm not sure I've ever actually been there at dead low. Anyone know?

I don't know if it was "dead" low tide, but I've been there at very low tides and had no problem.

On the subject of launch sites, any one have a good one for Plymouth Harbor; one that includes a place to park. Or, were is the PP bridge in Duxbury Harbor, and would that work for me tomorrow afternoon?

Check out the "Paddling Spots" page on the wtpaddlers main site. There are put-ins and directions to them for Plymouth Harbor and Duxbury Bay.

Also, here is a list of local launch spots.

Thanks you Pat, that was a lot of help, I've been jumping to the forum page so quick I haven't looked at the main page in awhile. And it sounds like going from PP bridge an hour or two after high tide, is still ok.

Just bear in mind that, unlike some launch spots that are nothing BUT launch spots, Duxbury beach is popular with the summer beach crowd, and parking can fill quickly on a weekend morning.
