Post by Marshall D. »

With high tide at approx. 3:00 pm
will there be paddling out of Hingham this afternoon?

It's probably too late to make any changes for this week regardless, so I'd say yes.

Several people are launching earlier, so it's difficult to say definitively which week is better. For those launching at 4:30 and getting out at 7:00, the 3pm high tide is best. If you're launching at 6:00 and getting out at 7:30, the 9pm high tide is best.

With a 9:15pm low tide, 7:30 is starting to get into the mucky time. But the tides get earlier each week, so at some point, we'll have to make a switch.

I plan on paddling tonight and am ready to go. I can't get there early. I'll shoot for 5:30 will anyone be there then or is everyone going out early?

A bunch of the early folks are on a trip to the Vineyard today, so there probably won't be any early paddlers.

Yikes. Will there be enough for a paddle?

My boat is on my truck here at work and I'm planning on paddling. If traffic permits I will probably get there by 4:30. I'd like to get out as early as possible due to the tide.

It was a nice trip last night out around Worlds End and back. The wind was pretty fierce, but we headed straight into it on the way back, and it was more fun than we all expected.

Till we got back to the mud flats.

I think it's time to switch weeks. Since many of the regulars were on Shark Week, maybe we should just do Hingham again next week and continue with the rotation from there.
