I like to paddle early in the morning out of Nelson Beach when I'm in Plymouth.
Aaand I knew it was an out going tide.
Aaand I knew it was an astronomically low tide
Aaand I thought I could get my time in and get back.
Wrong!!
When you running out of water, you look for the deeper water color or any channel, but eventually you hit bottom or bottom is coming up and hitting you. So I ended up on some rocks that are normally covered at high tide between Cordage Park and Rocky Nook
So I had my little sea weed covered world for about 1.5 hours.
No firm sand like Brown Bank when I stepped out. I had Hingham Harbor suck your feet off mud. I could see clamers, hear lawnmowers at Rocky Nook but just had to sit down and take some pictures.
I was able to return calls, check emails, read the Globe and Ledger on the phone and the tide kept going out. Eventually the tide turned and I said goodbye to the gulls and one little crab who kept me company
Here are some pictures of my little folly

Re: Time & Tides
Apparently Time & Tides don't even wait for Gary.
Thanks for sharing. That was funny, especially for those of us who didn't have to sit through it.

Re: Time & Tides
Been there (Hingham harbor) and done that. It is best to sit tight and wait for the water to return rather than sacrifice footwear to the muck.
Re: Time & Tides
We did that in the same spot a few years ago. We walked. As long as we kept moving we didn't sink in the mud. I could think of worse places to spend a few hours.
