I'm in kind of a bind. I'm scheduled to head up to Maine to paddle 75 miles of the coast in 2 days. I was preparing my boat for departure and broke the hatch cover ring. I ended up actually pulling it right off the boat. The adhesive takes 7 days to cure. I looking to buy or borrow a seaworthy expedition size boat. Key is I need to pick it up Tuesday 7/18 or Wednesday morning. Any leads would be appreciated. The ideal boat would be a NDK explorer or Cetus MV. I don't want to borrow someone's pride and joy that they would be crush is by some real bad luck I put a scratch in.

You're welcome to borrow my Shadow, but it paddles nothing like an Explorer. :D
I've been looking at the classifieds for a new boat and have noticed the following.
There's an Explorer in the classified section here, and the seller Kevin B might be willing to rent it to, he runs http://www.salemkayak.com and might be able to help.
There's a few good boats on nspn.org classifieds, an Argonaut for $650, a Scorpio and a Tempest 170.
https://www.primepaddlesports.com has a few used Tiderace Explores for good prices, but he's way out in NY.
Osprey also usually has a good selection, although their boats are pristine so a little pricey, might be worth checking out their web page. http://ospreyseakayak.com/shop/used-kayaks-and-sup/
Good luck!
