I look forward to do some camping with the group or a few of the group . I haven't done any on the south shore.Willing to help organize some overnight trips, car camping and/or kayak camping. Starting this thread to start generating ideas, feedback.
Anybody working on Washburn this year?, any interest in some Boston Harbor sites, Lovells, Grape, Bumpkin?. Horseneck beach?,.....
Ideas welcome.

Re: Camping for 2019
Hi All
We are running late for the Harbor Islands. Weekend campsites on ll the islands are booked for the season and weekdays are full untill mid July.
https://www.bostonharborislands.org/cam ... servations
If someone would like to go during the available times one or two days let me know and I will propose some dates and Island. Not bumpkin(too much Poison IVY)
Anyone camped at Horseneck beach state park?
Regards
Pablo

Re: Camping for 2019
About 10 years ago, when I used to talk to the rangers, they claimed they could always find a spot for kayakers. Most of the
rangers I talked to stated kayakers tend to be low impact and self sufficient, so it's not a big deal to write a permit on the spot, and find a site to squeeze into. I'm not sure how this would work with a big group, and reservations obviously are preferred.
I've also camped on Great Brewster without reservations and had no issues, again going on the assumption that I could get a permit on the spot if necessary. But I'd ask a few rangers in person if they still abide by that rule.

I might be available the second week of July for a night or 2 mid week. Looks like Peddocks and Lovells might be available.
