Is anyone interested in practicing some basic exit and reenter skills? Steven and I are looking to get together next Thursday. I would like to focus on wet exits, assisted rescues and maybe self rescue if I get my paddle float by then. I may be able to offer up our campground pond in Plymouth. It is small, clear and warm. If that's too far, we can go somewhere else. I would like to keep it flatwater if possible.

Thanks Steve, But I will pass on sharing the wetsuit
Even I get the whilly's thinking about putting on my wetsuit. There aren't a whole lot of options when your out in the middle of the swim leg of a triathlon and Mother Nature comes a callin'.
If the Plymouth location doesn't work out, an other possibility is Powder Point. Depending on wind direction, you can usually find calmer water on one side of the Point or the other.
We got permission from the owner to use the main beach at Curlew Pond, but if that is too far of a drive for people, we change change the location. I'm totally flexible on the starting time.

Those directions take you to the parking lot, but we'll be going to the main beach. So after this directive:
"As you enter the campground, there is a large Blueberry Hill sign with a map on it."
Do this instead:
Take a right and bear right until you get to the main beach (less than a hundred yards). There is also a basketball court there. Chip or I should be around to show you the best place to park and unload.

This sounds really good. I'm looking forward to it.
By the way Chip, congradulations on the horseshoe championship for 2004. Is it going to be tough to repeat or do you have a ringer for a partner? Or is your team a shoe-in?

Todd,
Thanks, but it was 2003. We already have been sent to the glue factory. We were out playing with the Phillies the night before so the last quarter mile was tough.

To anyone who is thinking of coming to this, please do NOT just show up. Let us know in this thread if you're planning on coming down. It's important that we know who's coming.

Officially, guys like Bud aren't allowed in the public areas like the roads and beach, but Ron's or Chip's campside is just a few steps away where we could chat with your friend for a few minutes after our training.

I am sure we could fit in a PPR (post paddle refreshment). Todd will bring Bud, Nelson will bring Sam and Steven will bring Joyce or is that Joyce Light?
