Weekend Skills Sessions.........

We've done them in the past and the 1 or 2 people that came to them i think had a pretty good experience.

For those of you who want them, I'd be happy to help out.

Please post a day you want it, a desired location, then try to drum up some committed folks to attend them.

Cheers :)

So, as I'm relatively new, Thursday 17th is at Hingham Harbor?
Could someone verify for me?
thanks!

Thursday: Hazy, hot, and humid! A round of significant, possibly violent storms in the afternoon. Biggest threat is damaging wind and localized flooding. Near 90. Gusty southwest wind 15-20 mph. Storms end by dark and skies clear overnight.

I'm officially renaming Thursday to Cursday.

You keep saying you want more realistic practice conditions...........LOL So practice your wet exits and rolls in the perfect storm :P

See you this afternoon!

Hope we'll see you in a couple weeks!

We had a good turn out despite Pat's prediction of the End of days LOL.

It actually was a fabulous evening, we had brief rain (min) and no lightening, followed by sunshine a beautiful sunset sky.

Aimee, Barb, Bob F, Deb D, Jan, Dr Smoke, and Skip all made it to Hanson for a fun evening!

Thanks for a good time!

That wasn't MY prediction, that was Channel 7's prediction. My issue is that for well over a year now, we haven't had a Thursday evening that was predicted to be nice and was nice. Although more often than not, we get the dire predictions and it turns out to be not all that bad.

A few of us were at a cookout last night and we had the exact same weather. A little rumbling off in the distance and about a dozen drops of rain. I remarked how you guys probably had a great evening for training. Wish I could have been there.

In the Weymouth area there were torrential downpours, wind and thunder for about 30 minutes. My wife had to pull over. She couldn't see the car in front of her. Location, location, location

Yes, it was a great night. Thanks, Jordon for all your helpful advice. Kudos to the (other more adventurous) newbies who jumped right in and practiced rolls and rescues! I was just happy to be out of doors and on the water. And thanks, everyone for your help loading/unloading my boat. I did leave with a big case of kayak envy, though. Maybe some day I'll be worthy ;-) See y'all next time!

I'm planning to be there and I'm actually planning to get wet for a change. I've heard from an Abington friend that wants to come out and learn to do a self rescue. Keep an eye out for Jack if I arrive late - don't let him sneak away.

I'm planning to go out for PPR afterwards too, if you're looking for a head count...

Well I was planning to be there this week. Totally forgot how to roll. But I'm off a few days next week and need to make sure I tie up some loose ends so I can actually enjoy my time off.

I'll be there with you again in spirit ;) I'll actually be in another warm pond practicing the same skills but in much shorter boats this evening. Hope to catch up with you all in a week or two. Someone please take a picture of wet Norm for me, I can't believe I'm going to miss that - LOL :) :) :)

Lora - I did get wet, showing Jack how to do a self-rescue, but the water was too warm so I only went in once. :D

And there were no cameras in sight to record the event.

Have fun at the Deerfield this weekend! :D

I may or may not go to Hanson tonight (8/12/10). Depends on what time I get out of work and how bad traffic is today. I also need to pack for camping this weekend, so I won't be staying for PPR.
