Surf Class 2.0 October 5th

Post by Johnysmoke »

WIth the success of the first class, and at the request of a few people who couldn't attend the previous date, I'm seeing how many would be interested in a class October 5th? Would be the same format as the last time around, with the focus on getting comfortable in the surf zone, being able to perform a controlled landing in surf, and a brief stint of surfing towards the end.

Lori and Phil Allen have offered to help out as well, so we could increase the class size quite a bit, if more than 4 people are interested. Otherwise I'd like to keep the class at 4 people as the water gets colder.

Meet at driftway at noon, ready to paddle by 12:30. Class would run for about 4 hours, and I'll be charging $40 per person for this instruction.

Requirements: Helmet, life jacket, spray skirt, kayak with bulkheads or flotation, clothing appropriate for immersion in 55 degree water as you are likely to swim.

Thanks,

Greetings Sensei Smoke,

Checking in to see if class is still on for tomorrow. Looks like it will be quiet given the weather conditions predicted.

See you tomorrow?

I think tomorrow's less than stellar surfcast of almost no surf won't really be conducive to learning about surfing, so I say let's postpone until there is a more promising date. Thanks! John
