Not to slam the whitewater lovers, but I came across a long article on playak.com this morning that I found interesting: "Thoughts on the upcoming ’60-Minutes Sports’ show featuring Shannon Christy". The article is written by an expert that was closely involved in the project to record a race at Great Falls on the Potomac River where a woman died during the filming. It makes you think about how much risk you're willing to take to have fun and get a thrill. The article also shows how well the expert whitewater people care for each other as they recovered the woman's body against the advice of the professional rescue services.

The "60 Minutes Sports" episode is on tonight and I hope to catch it or at least set the DVR to catch it. It's on Showtime.

I know a few people who had interactions with Shannon and they all had nothing but the best things to say about her.

With all respect for white water fans here is yet another alternative to our beloved sport. Lets say its a entry level surfing class. Abby
