This report is the second installment for my week of camping in Stonington Maine with the Boston AMC group. As I said in the first installment, this Isle Au Haut circumnavigation trip was not part of the sanctioned AMC event. It occurred prior to the official trip. Thanks again go to Sherry for making Jerry aware of the possibility to extend the trip and to Jerry for giving up a day of guide work and inviting Rick and I to attempt this long paddle with him.

Please enjoy these pictures on Facebook that should be accessible to anyone, even if you do not have a Facebook account. Please read the extensive comments for a full description of the epic circumnavigation paddle in dense fog.

those shoal waves can be fearful, especially in fog. And yes, they can amplify to a huge size as they hit the shallows. I remember the Nova Scotia waves breaking with a sound like dynamite blasts, and spray that could be seen for miles, where offshore it was only about 3-4' swell. sounds like you were equal to it all.

Norm,

Your pics are good, but I really liked your commentary on them! You could report for the CBS evening news with that talent! I really got a sense of where you went and what you went through!

Thanks as always for sharing!
