Only a danger to you if you are a jellyfish.

I have seen these leaping out of the water in Vineyard Sound. Hard to believe that they can muster that much enthusiasm for anything. Bea running right over it? Sunfish don't care.

Happy to hear it Mark. I was sure I was going to get hate mail after being so close to a living creature. It was not intentional. I just wanted to get a good look.

The first encounter was when I almost speared it with my paddle but stopped in mid stroke and glided by it.

Are they not the coolest sea creatures going? I was so excited to see one for the first time last year. Came up next to my boat, same as for you. Hard to imagine, Mark, that they could leap out of the water. They seem like the sloths of the sea.

I ran over one once, too. Taking pictures. The chop just sort of threw my bow right on top of it. It never flinched.

This one didn't flinch either, so I though maybe something was wrong with him, but he was just bobbing along happy as can be.

Norm, you miss quoted me, I believe I said "what the "F" is it", with lots of emphasis on the "F".
