Greys Beach Short Paddle

Post by baron1701 »

Good weather Saturday 8/16. I don't get out much anymore, five kids but the water called me out for a quick couple of hours.
I buy / sell Kayaks and ended up with a Ocean Kayak Prowler Trident 15 that I wanted to try before I sell. Wonderful fishing machine : )

My wife dropped me off at Greys Beach with all of my fishing gear and paddled out about a mile into the bay. I dropped a tube w/ worm with one rod and used a lure on another. No bites but still a good time. Very little boat traffic for some reason. It was late afternoon and the air started getting cold, maybe everyone had already gone in.
I love hearing the music from the shore. I wanted to paddle over to the Mayflower and fool around a little longer but the Wife called me in.
I returned to Nelson Beach with my family waiting. Fairly dry day - only one rogue wave got the better of me. I plan on trying the Cowyard or Clarks Island if I feel adventurous enough in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for sharing your trip report. There were not many boats out on Saturday for some reason. How was the fishing and what did you catch?

No bites on the fishing but I didn't stay still or troll slow for too long.
