Sunset / Moonrise Paddle July 2017

This year's sunset moonrise paddle shrunk to only four paddlers at the last minute this year.
The weather was fantastic. The bugs were horrific - little no-see-ums or sand flees or something ate me alive and I'm still scratching 3 days later. Bea was properly prepared with a light, hooded jacket and long pants.
No clouds in the sky to give us dramatic sunset pictures, but that also made it a little easier to paddle back to the take-out under the full moon. It was still very dark though.
The four of us had a nice little picnic but had to keep moving to try to avoid the bugs. It was still a great night out there despite all the swatting. Maybe we should try setting up way out on a sandbar near the water and away from the marsh grass on nights when there is no breeze to keep the bugs down.
Here is a picture album on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1580616985289884.1073741952.100000247920357&type=1&l=1635b0bc82
