I made them go out there and pose for me while I took a photo of the skyline. I didn't want to have to tell them that they should both be facing the same way. It was enough to make them go out there.

I made them pose for me later on and the same thing happened.

I think it has to do with polar magnetism of kayaks. Most people don't realize that after paddling for a bit, the friction of the hull running through the water actually charges the hull. In most cases, the bow will become positively charged while the stern developes a negative charge. So, as two hulls that have been thus'ly charged come close together in parallel, the natural tendency is for the like ends of the crafts to repell each other and the opposite ends to attract. Oddly enough, though this phenomenon does not hold true for mango colored kayaks... they repell EVERYTHING!!!

Pat,

I'm surprised you did not cut and paste one of the boats to go the same direction. We know your dedication to photojournalistic integrity.

I know what you mean. It got so quiet on the Skerry Forum, I actually stooped so low as to post a picture of my big toe, this morning.

I've always loved the feel of neoprene... makes my butt look smaller, too.

Steve:

I think that was me going the wrong way (both times). I've always been a bit a a contrarian!.

Actully the Shearwater can be a bit of a handfull to turn if the wind ain't cooperating. Once out in the harbor I was thinking I should have brough my other paddle with the bigger blades!
