Indian Head River Launch 09-07-13

Post by Sjroche »

Yesterday afternoon, my son Alex and I launched from Indian Head River in Hanover, to travel down the North River to the Washington St bridge, which we had heard about and read about (mostly from WTP folks). It was near high tide (about 3 hours after Damon Point) and the upriver current under the bridge was swift and created some turbulence - we turned around. At some point, we'd like to paddle down to (or up from) Bridge St, but would like to do that with someone more experienced - if any WTP folks are planning this trip, please let me know.

I took some pics. I am attaching a FB link which I noticed others are doing. Hopefully this works and folks can view it. Here it is:

Beautiful photos, Stephen! Thank you for sharing.

The Wild Turkeys have done many trips down the North River in the past. Maybe it is time to plan another one. The river is gorgeous when the colors start turning.
