I'm hoping that parking at the Cohasset town boat ramp is still open to non-residents after Labor Day and I'd like to take advantage of the convenient parking now that summer is over. (33 Parker Ave., Cohasset in the GPS gets you close.)
Plan to arrive at 9:30am and launch at 10:00am.
High tide is at 1:00pm
Marine forecast is: Saturday - Se winds around 5 kt, becoming S with gusts up to 20 kt in the afternoon. Waves 1 foot or less..
I hope to be off the water before any of those gusts come up.
Will probably paddle 10 to 15 miles depending on who attends and how far they would like to go. I'm probably not in great paddling shape, so I'm not interested in big miles.
Planning to stop somewhere for lunch or a at least a snack, so bring something to eat as well as plenty of water.
Maybe head out to Minot light first and then see what it's like out there and which way people want to go. Might head north up the coast a little and then into Little Harbor around high tide time so it'll be easy to get back out.
Wet exit/Rescue skills are required.
I would recommend at least a 15 foot boat.
Ability to paddle 15 miles.
Proper clothing and gear required!
Please respond if you plan to attend.
Follow the planning and aftermath of WT trips.
