Sunday May 25th - Mattapoisett <-> West Island
Paddling this Sunday from Neds Point in Mattapoisett around West Island in Fairhaven in back.
Plan to meet at put in at 9:00 and launch at 9:30?
Current forecast for Sunday:
NW winds 5 to 10 kt...becoming SW late. Seas 1 foot or less
According to gmap-pedometer this is 12.5 miles. Our actual route might be different depending up weather, sea conditions and traffic.

directions to put in at Neds Point:
Take exit 19, Mattapoisett, of Route 195. Continue south on North Street, across Route 6, to the water. Turn left onto Water Street. At the 4-way intersection, go straight. You are now on Ned's Point Road which ends at the parking lot. The launch is straight ahead with a fairly narrow gravel beach and a sandy beach to the left of it.
There are some restrooms at the park that are open on weekends, I don't know if they are open yet.

90 Ned's Point Rd, Mattapoisett, MA 02739
Please post here if you plan to attend. You should be prepared for the water temps and weather conditions.

This looks like a great trip...and a great way to get the season rolling. But we've got guests through Sunday. Their kids will even be using our yaks around here.
The real world keeps interfering with the way things ought to be. Dammit!
I've got to reorder my priorities.

Hi everyone.
Count me in. 9:00 with a 9:30 launch is perfect. Is this going to be a testosterone fest, or is this a Turtle paddle? For some of us it is the first real paddle of the season. Just asking so I can mentally prepare myself.

Just secretly tie a sea-anchor onto Jordan's boat when he's not looking...and the pace will be fine.
