Cohasset Wave Saturday 1:30PM

Post by Mark »

It's a pretty big tide - 10 feet, with a 10 1/2 foot differential between high and low.

Greenheads are here, so long sleeves are a good idea.

Plan to be on the water by about 1:30, or earlier if you want to warm up before things get too lively.

I have some relatives in town for a few days and our plans are a bit up in the air still but I'm hopeful that I'll be able to squeeze in some time at the Wave again this weekend :)

Oh I have a duckie that can go on the jive-just haven't figured out how to attach him as securely as on my longboat...

Don't you think I'm dangerous enough in whitewater without a giant black devil duckie on my deck???

Is it an antibacterial duckie? Bassing beach was on the closed list again today.

Great! i was planning on being in the area anyways. What is the parking situation like? Im guessing it will be a crowded day especially with no other whitewater (except fife) going on. If handy, could someone pass along directions/or where to get directions. I have a general idea, but not real sure where the launch spot is...

Look forward to meeting some new paddlers tomorrow. Bringing long and short boat.

Ok, just to clarify, Bassing was well within the safety limits for Enterococci. As when it was closed the last time, the sampling point directly across Cohasset Harbor at the yacht club was NOT closed. These closings are not due to unsafe bacteria levels.

Local health officials have the authority to close a beach regardless of test results and in some cases they may choose to close a beach based on "local conditions", whatever that means.

Thanks for the heads up, Chris, but we should be fine.
