Wed-8/31 tentative paddle, Padanaram around Mishaum Pt

Post by Linda »

I have high hopes to paddle the above route with another paddler pending updated weather/wind/water conditions for next week.
This is an EXPOSED SHORELINE paddle with MINIMAL TAKE-OUTS. Strong paddling skills, updated safety skills and equipment are a MUST.
I am proposing a 15+ mile route (total). Launch will be just short of noon to accomodate my paddling partner... at least a 3rd STRONG paddler would be very nice to have. Any interested souls... reply here.
I will monitor conditions and confirm as the day comes closer.

Hi Linda,

I would be interested in joining you. I consider myself a strong paddler.

Can you please provide directions to the parking spot, exact meeting time (and/or launch time), and what time you estimate we will be off the water so I can be sure to clear my schedule.

Thanks,
Bob

Welcome, Bob!
2 things-
1- It's possible that the paddle will be changed to this Friday and I won't be sure until later this afternoon. Power outage with the
other paddler may dictate the change in day, at this point. Just a 'heads up'.
2- For SAFETY PURPOSES I need to be sure that anyone planning to come is equipt with paddle float, bilge pump, spray skirt (preferably neoprene) and of course life jacket, emergency whistle and has (this season) practiced both self and assisted re-entries. Also, the distance of the intended paddle (approx 15 miles) should not be 'over-extending' anyones comfort level.
Please PM me with a personal way to be in touch so I can most effectively pass on the most
current plan for this trip.
This is not meant to deter anyone... only be upfront with what may be encountered in a realistic way
so we all have a FUN, SAFE day on the water.

This paddle had to be postponed due to power outages at home+work... tentative for Friday, 9/2.

Forecast is not promising... besides the other paddler committed can not... I would love to do this again, though... If I do, I'll try posting on a weekend, if that would help.

Now NOT FRIDAY, 9/2... outage at work, too much 'catch up to do... Looking at next Tues or Wed, whichever has the lowest winds.
