Boston Harbor Outer Islands Saturday 7/14
I would like to paddle to the Boston Harbor outer islands this Saturday. I would like to launch from the Hull Municipal Parking lot (I have heard it is best to park at the far end of the lot), and paddle out to the Brewster Islands, and if people want out to the Graves.
Plan to launch at 10:30 am, be back around 4 PM. Low tide is at 2:30, so we can ride the tide out, explore the islands, and return on the incoming tide. Estimated mileage is 12- 15 miles, should have wet exit experience, and experience paddling in open water with wakes from boats.
Please post interest

I'd like to join you also. I might paddle my plastic boat in case there's an opportunity to play amongst the rocks. Time to get out the helmet cam and try it out.
SE Mass AMC was out there Wednesday and saw a few seals, so we may see some too. We didn't see any earlier this year out there, but it was high tide and swells were rolling in a little too strong. Should be quite different at low tide. Much easier to find beaches to stop on for breaks.

Hi Bob,
Glad to hear you're getting time away from your busy schedule to go kayaking!
I'll be joining you tomorrow for this trip! Could you (or someone) post details (like an address) about where the Hull parking lot is?
Bring it on!

I'm pretty sure Bob is planning on the spot I've probably suggested to him where there is an easy access point to a beach away from the traffic and wave action of the gut. It gives you an easier launch and a couple minutes to get comfortable in your boat in calm water before entering the gut.
Here is a Google map link to the spot at the end of the municipal lot. See the spot with the green arrow. It is the far end of the lot because if you follow the lot's do no enter signs, you have to drive past the whole lot to the entrance at the commuter boat end and come back to the end where you can walk around the sea wall onto a beach where a few people store row boats. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=42.304503 ... 1&t=h&z=18
I think an address that will work in a GPS is: 130 Main Street, Hull, MA

Deb, to answer your question, lets meet at 10, launch at 10:30.
And thank you Norm for clarifying the exact meeting spot, that is where we will be meeting. Hopefully, I am a better roller than using google maps...
Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Thanks for picking a great spot to go today Bob.
I shot a total of over 500 pictures with the 2 cameras and 5 videos. It might take me a while to do a trip report.
I did upload the 2 best videos to Vimeo for sharing.
