Neds Point to West Island Saturday 7/21

Post by rkhederian »

I would like to do this paddle that Jordan led last month, as I was unable to make it. It begins at Neds Point, and goes out to West Island. I would like to paddle around the island a little, eat, explore, swim, and then return.

The plan would be to meet at 9:30, launch at 10.

Trip is about 12-15 miles, forecast is for nice weather and good conditions.

Should be comfortable paddling this distance, and be able to handle some wind and seas.

Please post interest.

The route is shown here http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5532716

Meeting spot is here, at Neds Point, http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Ned+Point ... t&t=m&z=16

Bob, I'm leading a SEM/AMC paddle 7/25 from Neds Point to either West Island or Haskell Island. If you don't go Saturday, you (and anyone else) can join me Wednesday. Open ocean and wet exit skills are required.

Wish I could go, but the (*%#!) pain in my knee has finally let up and I think I will just rest it this weekend.

I can't believe Archee is going to Isle of Shoals

You might want to join him if you're up for 12 mi of open water paddling with nothing in between!

Due to the lack of interest, this trip will not happen. Some other time.

Thanks for the offer, Gifford, but I cannot make it Wednesday.

I saw Archees post for Isle of Shoals, was really tempted, but am going to pass. I think it would be more enjoyable paddle that far of a distance (somewhat) along the coast. Would love to do Weepeckets and Cuttyhunk sometime...
