August 18, 2012: Gray's Beach to Sesuit Harbor

Launch at 10:00 AM from Gray's Beach (41º 43.383 N 70º 14.135 W ), Yarmouth, and paddle out the entrance of Chase Garden Creek (strong currents), around Chapin Memorial Beach, and then east along the shore to Sesuit Harbor for lunch. Distance one way of about 6-7 miles. From Chapin Beach to Sesuit Creek is all beach with nice breaking surf near the shore. This paddle is for sea kayaks and paddlers who are experienced in paddling in open ocean conditions. Gray's Beach has good parking and facilities. If you need directions to the put-in, let me know.

It's in Yarmouth. You take the mid-Cape to exit 8, Union Street. Go north on Union Street to the end, which is 6A. Go left and then an immediate right onto Old Church Street which later joins Center Street. Stay on Center Street to the end (follow the signs to the beach).

Again, this is an open ocean paddle. Sea kayaks, spray skirts, pfd's, etc. Bring lunch and water. We will be exiting the boats off-shore for a swim/walk.

Demarest Lloyd State Park in Dartmouth? Not Yarmouth? So it isn't the Gary's Beach route any more. What's the route?
