Circumnavigate Georgetown island, Maine, on 5/17
A few of us are circumnavigating Georgetown island (with ideal tidal currents) on May 17. I am booked into the Moorings B&B: http://themooringb-b.com/ starting Thursday night, ( 5/15) and am planning to surf Popham beach or hang out at the mouth of the Kennebec on Friday, go around Georgetown on Saturday and maybe do a short paddle at Hellsgate Sunday before driving back. Totally open to other suggestions for Friday and Sunday. This is a rather demanding trip. Contact me for a copy of the relevant tidal current atlas and/or if you are interested in coming along.

Josko,
This Georgetown Island circumnavigation looks very interesting to me. Is it about a 24 mile paddling trip?
Are you launching right from the B&B? If yes, is there room for additional cars to park for others staying elsewhere? If not, where is the launch point?
I noticed there's a campground about 5 miles away with cabins available (a little early for tenting in Maine) that might be more my speed.

Looks like 22 nautical miles, but with a strong current push about half of the way. We'll be launching either from the Five Islands beach or from Reid State Park, both close to the B&B.
I stayed at the Sagadahoc bay campground which is a ~10 min drive from Reid state park. http://www.sagbaycamping.com/ Their cabins are nice, tenting sites less so.
